By default, IIS on our Windows server displays a custom error page or generic information; however, at some point during application development, you may need to display more detailed error messages. To do this, follow the steps below:

Step 1). Access the File Manager for your subscription/hosting plan via your Plesk control panel.

Step 2). Edit the `web.config` file located in the `/httpdocs` folder and replace its content with the following:

Step 3). In Plesk, under **Websites & Domains**, click the **Hosting & DNS** menu and then click **Hosting**. Under **Web Scripting**, uncheck the **Custom error documents** option.

You`re all set! Your hosting service will now display detailed error messages.
